The variety Inara has been at the forefront in recent years in the mid-early potato variety. Such interest is caused by good yield and relative unpretentiousness of the Inara variety, among other potato varieties of medium early ripening.
Tastes, agricultural technology and low requirements for storage conditions allow us to achieve high results in private farms and farms, as well as to grow the Inara variety on an industrial scale in those regions of Russia that are traditionally considered zones of high-risk farming.
History of origin
The authors of the variety are breeders of the company Norika Nordring Kartoffelzucht und Vermehrungs GmbH. Norika has fifty years of experience in successfully breeding and growing elite potato varieties. It is noteworthy that the variety Inara was obtained in the climatic conditions of the island of Rügen, located in the Baltic Sea, which by their severity resemble the central and middle regions of the Russian Federation.
It is noteworthy that the creators of the variety Inara continue to oversee their product, issuing licenses for breeding seed to German farmers, as well as controlling the varietal qualities of Inara from official distributors in the Arkhangelsk region and in other regions of Russia who are involved in the promotion of varietal potatoes of a German company.
Potato varieties Inara passed phytosanitary control in the territory of the Russian Federation and is approved for distribution and cultivation. Currently, the variety is widespread not only in the recommended areas, but also in the south of Russia.
Description and characteristics
The variety Inara is distinguished by medium-sized bushes, up to 80 cm high. It has upright juicy stems, compactly located around the basal rosette. The color of the stems and leaves corresponds to the generic characteristics of the potato:
- light green - at the beginning of the growing season;
- dark green color in the phase - flowering;
- yellow and brown - in the phase of biological maturity.
The leaves of the plant are paired, oval-shaped, slightly pointed at the tips, on short petioles, with a relief pattern.
During the flowering period, the potato throws flower stalks in "clusters." Variety Inara has white flowers with a yellow base in the sepals.
The root system of the potato is located close to the surface of the soil, has a fibrous structure. Inara forms stolons with 8-10 tubers each, weighing from 80 g to 140 g. The number and weight of tubers depend on agrotechnical and climatic factors.
Potato Inara is popular, thanks to the universal table quality, the correct form of oval tubers, without deep eyes. The peel at the stage of biological maturity has a golden-brown tint, the flesh of the tubers is moderately dense, cream-colored in its raw form, and white after heat treatment.
Advantages and disadvantages
Inara requires standard agrotechnical conditions, like any potato variety, and only with the observance of all the rules can one discover the advantages of the variety.
It is suitable for technical cleaning, thanks to a smooth and equal surface of tubers
Fruit variety - 25-42 kg / m2
Standard agricultural technology
Resistance to scab, late blight of stems, nematodes, rot, potato cancer
Satisfactory dining quality, starch content 11-14%
When storing does not lose density and taste
During storage requires regular inspection and removal of sprouts
In addition to compliance with agricultural technology, it is necessary to take into account regional weather and climatic conditions, soil composition. The quality of the variety has a significant impact seed.
Planting potatoes begins with the preparation of the soil immediately after harvest. The plot on which the potatoes were grown should be given special attention if it is not possible to follow the rules of crop rotation.
- After harvesting the potatoes, be sure to clean the area from the tops. It is taken out of limits and burned in order to avoid contamination of the soil with pathogens.
- With a limited area of the site, to comply with the rules of crop rotation, after harvesting potatoes, it is advisable to plant on the site spicy leafy crops, radish or radish, lettuce, some types of cabbage, and beans. Since the term for harvesting Inara potatoes comes in June, it is possible to get a double benefit: to improve the soil composition and to get an additional crop of other, early or frost-resistant crops.
- In the autumn, the plot planned for growing potatoes is dug up to a depth of 30-40 cm, manure is introduced (10 kg / m2), as the potato responds excellent harvest when grown in soil, enriched with organic matter.
- In the spring, when re-digging and loosening the soil for planting potatoes, it is imperative to add urea, nitrogen, potash and phosphate mineral fertilizers.
Such a measure will increase the future crop of potatoes by 15-20%.
Variety Inara, like all varieties of potatoes, prefers a fertile and light soil, with good aeration and moderate humidity. Therefore, it is important to improve the composition of clay soil by introducing sand, dolomite flour. Potatoes are not very susceptible to the level of soil acidity, and high humidity can cause many diseases, spoil the varietal quality of Inara potatoes, and reduce shelf life.
Before planting, it is necessary to place the tubers in a warm room and germinate within 20-30 days. On tubers leave the strongest sprouts, and the rest are removed. For rapid germination, the tubers are treated with biostimulants - this technique allows you to get a friendly crop with a good increase, and also largely regulates the optimal time for planting the middle-early variety Inara.
Landing patterns may vary. In LPH, where the planting and harvesting of potatoes is carried out manually, two traditional methods are mainly used: trench and square-nested. 5-6 tubers are planted on one square meter of the plot, leaving such a distance between future plants so that the grown bushes will close together, forming a microclimate in the root zone. But at the same time it is not necessary to thicken the planting so that the plants interfere with each other in the development of tubers.
Therefore, the optimal distance between the rows of the Inara variety, considering the structure of its bushes is 50 cm. The distance in the row should be the same. It is allowed to shift the landing pattern by 10 cm in the direction of increasing the row spacing or in rows. The 50x70 cm scheme is used for the simultaneous cultivation of beans and potatoes.Attention! Beans are a natural defender of the potato from the Colorado potato beetle and a source of nitrogen in the soil.
In addition, the beans can protect the potatoes from the heat, playing the role of the rocker culture.
The depth of seeding of tubers depends on the composition of the soil:
- 5 cm - for clay soil;
- 10-12 cm - for loam;
- 14-16 cm - for sandy soil enriched with organic matter and mineral complex.
When planting potatoes in a well or a trench, phosphate and potash fertilizers are applied. The planting dates of the prepared seed material are determined by regional weather conditions. It is necessary to take into account at the same time that the period of technical maturity of potatoes Inara comes 40-45 days after germination, and biological maturity comes 80 days.
7-10 days after planting potatoes, a period of regular care for the future harvest begins, and continues until the tubers are laid for storage. Standard agrotechnical rules for growing potatoes are applied to the cultivation of the Inara variety. Each stage of care plays an important role; therefore, it is impossible to ignore the necessary agrotechnical measures.
Loosening and weeding
Before the emergence of shoots, the plot is harrowed to remove weeds.
Aeration of the soil improves the taste of potatoes, increases the yield. In heavy ground, regular loosening of row spacing is also necessary because the high density of the soil deforms the tubers, and they take on a non-tradable appearance.
Very important is the regular weeding between rows, the destruction of weeds in the area. This is a preventive measure in the fight against pests and diseases. The manufacturer claims that Inara is a stable variety, but its ultimate strength should not be tested.
Loosening is carried out after rain or watering, to remove the crust on the surface, as well as to destroy weeds.
Artificial watering of potatoes is necessary during the dry season, and in cases when sand is predominant in the soil composition. Potato Inara relatively easy to tolerate drought, but the lack of moisture affects the formation and growth of tubers. At the same time, excess moisture is also not welcome when growing potatoes.
With prolonged temperatures above 220With the beginning of dropping the buds and the growth of tubers is suspended. At this time, it is desirable to support the bushes with irrigation, which is best done in the evening.
Hilling and feeding
In the phase when the seedlings reach a height of 15 cm, the first hilling is necessarily performed, which protects the root system from moisture evaporation, activates the formation of tubercles. The first hilling may be preceded by additional feeding with potassium and phosphorus, or complex preparations, with the addition of trace elements. Before feeding plants should be carefully watered. In the phase of the beginning of budding, the second hilling is carried out, which contributes to additional tuberization.
Diseases and pests
When growing potatoes of any kind, it is impossible to do without preventive measures against pests. If gardeners do not have sufficient knowledge in the field of agrochemistry, then it is better to stock up with insecticides of a universal spectrum of use that have existed on the market for a long time, and are successfully used: Taboo, Barrier - universal preparations of a new generation. The old, proven and effective means - Bordeaux mixture, which is suitable in the fight against infections.
Perfectly proven and folk remedies in the fight against pests and diseases: infusions of chamomile, celandine, mustard or walnut leaves. These tools are used for irrigation of bushes. Cut grass and leaves scattered between the rows.Attention! The cause of diseases of potatoes and all vegetable crops is often a violation of agricultural technology, leading to the weakening of plants.
If the Inara variety is intended for summer consumption, then it is permissible to start harvesting at the stage of technical maturity - 45-50 days. At this time, the bushes are in the phase of active flowering, and in the underground part of the plants there are already formed tubers. The stems and leaves of plants retain their green color and succulence. Green tops mow two days before harvesting potatoes.
"Young" potatoes are stored no more than two weeks at a temperature of 2-50C, in paper bags or canvas bags that prevent condensation. Therefore, when harvesting potatoes in the stage of technical ripeness for personal consumption, it is better to dig up the tubers as they are consumed, to ensure the best preservation of the product.
Potatoes for winter consumption and for planting are harvested at the stage of biological maturity. For the variety Inara, this period comes after 80 days. But depending on the regional climatic conditions, these periods may move in one direction or another. The degree of maturity of a potato can be determined by the main outward appearance of the plants: wilting and mass lodging of the stems are characteristic for the completion of the potato growing season. Further, within 3-4 weeks, biological tuber maturation occurs. Willingness to harvest potatoes - dense skin.
Cleaning is best done in dry weather, but if there is no such possibility, then the excavated potatoes are dried under a canopy, protected from the sun's rays, the soil is removed, sorted. The selected seed is separately processed and stored for storage. Discard tubers affected by insects and diseases.
The storage room is disinfected with quicklime, copper sulfate, and ventilated. During the whole period of storage in the basement the temperature should be maintained 3-5.0WITH.
Potatoes - “second bread”, and, of course, the agrotechnology of its cultivation should be paid attention not only to breeders, but also to summer residents, far from deep scientific research. In order for the Inara variety and other potato varieties to bring a rich harvest and enjoy the results of the hard work of growing potatoes, every detail in its agricultural technology is important.
The variety Inara has fans, and there are vegetable growers who say that this variety needs to be improved. Both summer residents and breeders are always interested to know the opinion of those who have tested the variety Inara on their own plot.
